well it an 89 so its prob fuel injected so i would check the fuel injector to see if it is getting any power u could do this easily with a noid light just plug the noid light in the plug for the injector(s) and crank the engine over it will flash while cranking if u are getting power but no fuel and u say u have plenty of fuel pressure then u have a bad injector if no power then check the fuses or wiring to the computer for the injectors

Have you determined if you have spark to the plugs? If not do that first. If you have, determine if the dist. is firing through the firing order in the proper sequence. You will have to get the motor to #1 TDC by the timing mark and check the dist. rotors location. If this is okay, check for PCM codes and valid data for a start. If this is okay and I assume the motor is okay, you need to check for power to the injectors. Take off a couple of connectors and test for power to ground. If none, locate burnt fuse and/or short. If power okay, you will have to determine if the PCM is grounding the injectors to fire the fuel into the motor. I can't see 8 injectors quitting at once. Check, check and check some more. Good luck.

back up a minute and make sure you have spark at the spark plugs. If there is no spark from the ignition coil your injectors or TBI won't release any fuel( safety issue) If there's no spark at the plugs check the coil. most likely you'll have to change the module in the distibuter. Chevy's are notorious for these things just going out with no prior warning.

you should check for the source of the problem before you just start to randomly replace parts. Try to check out if the fuel injectors are clogged or if their is a problem with the cars computer system.

sounds to me you have a electrical problem, take a test light see if youre getting any current to your fuel pump relay switch if not thats your problem. it travels like this ignition switch to fuel pump relay switch to fuel pump pump to filter filter to regulator valve then to the cylinders.
