it depends on if you gained an approprate amount of weight, if you breast feed, if you diet, and if you exercise.

if you can say yes to the above, it will take 3-6 months for most women

if you can only adjust your diet you can lose at least 2 llbs each week

It depends on each person. All the moms in the Le Leche League are "heavier" and I have never seen a skinny BF mother although they will all tell you that you lose the weight so fast. ??

With my first I weighed in at 115 when I concieved and 105 a month after birth, I gained 30 lbs during the pregnancy. BUT I still had to wear larger sized clothing than normal because of my extra belly skin. Eventually that went away.

Each of my 8 babies did different things to my body. Number 3 and 4 only carried to 10 weeks, but with the rest of them I gained 30-60 lbs and lost it within 8 months.

Good luck!

My baby's 3mth old and am breastfeeding. I gained 14.5kg and have lost 10kg so far. People told me that I have to increase my carbo intake to increase my milk supply but when I did that, my weight continues to creep up. So I reduce my carbo slightly and jog twice-thrice a week.

My target is to lose all the weight in 6mths. You can make a target for yourself, say 4-6 or 9mths to lose all the weight gained. All the best!

The saying is that it took nine months to gain it so give yourself a good 9 months to get back in your clothes. Breast feeding really speeds up the process as it burns an extra 500+ calories/day plus i releases a hormone that makes your uterus contract back to its pre-baby size quickly.

9mths to put it on....9mths to take it off is what the dr's tell you.
Some people loose it faster though, especially if you breastfeed and stay active.
I only gained 18lbs with each of my pregnancies...1 month after my son was born I lost 26lbs and a month after my daughter was born I had lost 30. I breastfed and ate low carb.

For me, it's very difficult. My baby is 7 months old. I am breast feeding, and I am trying to eat right and exercise. I still can't fit into any of my old clothes.
