Here is what she wrote:
Tonight the clipped moon reminds me of your toe nails in the carpet. A splinter finding my foot on the edge of leaving. Autumn has given us these dry left overs collecting against the walls.
Out of the house, two blocks further, and the night has swallowed my shadow. The aftertaste of city lights cast me back down to the dead leaves light in the in-between world of not letting go.
There is one last call to beckon me back...The cleft between apartments filled with each windows open offering. Garlic
upon damp sheets tossing, two glasses toasting. How I try so hard to not find you camouflaged in these dark masses, instead
mulishly keep walking away as you stand.Further your squinting eyes to reach me.
what is she telling me here? why is she reaching out to me after she said she will never contact me again

Is she on drugs, or does she always sound whacky?

Well you're obviously going through a rough patch, and it seems like you've tried talking to him. But it sounds like he doesn't want to get married... he's looking for other women, and gets angry when you find out. I think you really need to take a look at your relationship and consider what needs to happen. Is this how you want your marriage? After only 4 years, this seems so unhealthy... and uncomfortable. Talk to him about getting married-- ask him "Is it still something you want with me?" because if he isn't absolutely SURE, then you're just making yourself suffer. He shouldn't have asked you to marry him in the first place, but apparently he did, and now his feelings might have changed. And I assume counseling is out of the question for him? Good luck, I hope everything works out Edit: To just about everyone: Stop being mean to this poor girl. No one likes to be judged, and the comments are unnecessary. You should all have been sensitive in your answers-- don't you think she's going through a hard time? There was no reason to be so mean, especially when you didn't know her whole situation. I'm sorry, Malissa!

Write her back and tell her that it was good to hear from her. Ask her how she has been doing and what she is up to these days. If she responds in a positive manner you will know that she is interested in seeing you.

Write her back and tell her that it's nice to hear from her and you wish her all the best. No sense in being nasty.

Maybe she is finding out no one else wants her and she is hoping you might still be interested.

Sounds like you dodged a bullet there... even if you didn't know it at the time.
