if there's any good japanese rock bands.
I don't mind if it's older stuff too like
80's or 90's.Are there any web sites I

I got a CD called, "Japan for Sale", vol. 4 and it is a mix of Japanese stuff - Mostly Japanese Thrash - Really original and unique.

------------------------------
Swear
By Tommy heavenly: This track starts the album off right with its electric feel. The vocals of Tokomo Kawase are gritty with a static sound along the lines of Courtney Love. It is a good song, new and fresh sounding.

The Great Ameteurhythm
By Rhymester: A great piece with awesome beat. The first hip-hop on the CD it delivers an interesting mix of hip-hop and Japanese rap. The vocals just flow with the music and are what really set this portion of the CD apart from others. The grunting is a mystery, but hey, it seems to work.

Can-nana Fever (Jet Version)
By Guitar Wolf: Punk music with a Japanese style. The lyrics are screamed more than sung (sorta like Sid Viscous or the Ramones) while the beat is fast and furious. A typical punk tune, good but not great, and a little short.

baby beautiful
By Aiha Higurashi: A chaotic opening that left me wondering. Next came a very slow tempo with the Aiha Higurashi whispering (in decent English) to the listener. It eventually picks up, but her voice stays low. A unusual ditty that you’ll remember if you ever hear it again

N.G.S
By ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION: A high-energy piece that leaves you smiling and bobbing your head with the beat. The energy off of the song is amazing, the sound intense. In the bass line, you can feel an extra push, letting you know that this is one number with a personal connection to the band.

Johnny Back
By Mean Machine: Harmonicas with female vocals. Nothing new or intriguing, it just is. Not a tune I really liked or even felt fit in with the other selections on the compilation.

Shanghai Honey
By ORANGE RANGE: A number that may take repeated listening to really appreciate. It has a happy feel and the three MC’s do well, meshing their voices together to create a sound all their own. At the end stops an individual, completely out of the blue, says “MI” which I found comical due to its randomness.

KAJA KAJA GOO
By POLYSICS: Vintage videogames and a screaming vocalist. This tune has a relentless beat, nearly indecipherable lyrics and the blips and bleeps can be heard throughout.

READY STEADY GO
By L'Arc~en~Ciel: What can I say about this track, except that it rocks. Anyone with a passing interest in anime has heard it. Anybody else should check it out, form their own opinion and then go to Tofu or yesasia.com to buy as many L’Arc albums as possible.

Dive For You
By Boom Boom Satellites: The best number on the album. An awesome beat combined with outstanding vocals make for fantastic electronic music. Starting with a burst of energy from the bass player, the intensity and blended singing-screaming vocals made me hit the repeat button.

Still Island with Shuuzan Morita
By DJ KRUSH: DJ KRUSH is just amazing. The beat just wows me with its combination of traditional Japanese music and techno. The beat is slow and steady and the pipes carry clearly over the electronics. The pipes, which are a focal point, seem to tell a story. This is a blend of music that shouldn’t work but do, with two distinct styles meshing into a soothing pulse.

lang
By ACO: I listen to this sound and I think of Macross Plus. You could easily insert this into any of the flight scenes and not damage either piece. Soft and feminine vocals can be overpowered, but here they stand on their own. The string section supports that sound, lifting the vocals without surpassing them. There is an odd part at the end with a spray type sound (like pump hairspray) that I can’t quite figure out what it’s there for but doesn’t detract from anything.

The Rising Suns
By Takkyu Ishino: Think Prince before the name change. Think 80’s dance music, Janet Jackson before the whole “nipplegate” thing and you’ve got this track. No vocals, just pure pop to groove to.

LAST SCENE
By SUPERCAR: Interesting addition, as its tone is totally different from any other piece on the album. A slow, moodier piece that reminds me of Beck. A good song that by itself is cool, but really doesn’t fit in with the other selections very well.

After School (boys be, girls do)
By Chicochair: The CD seems to be slowing down with this and “Last Scene” before. The lead vocalist Chica sounds like most female Japanese singers but the music makes it something more. I can’t explain it better than that. It just pulls at you and ends like they had no idea what to do.

Song for Hasuike -Hasuike no Uta-
By kokeshi Doll: Strange number. Opening with a simple guitar riff that, with the addition of a female vocalist reminiscent of Grace Jones, comes across as a cousin of Guitar Wolf. They are just another Japanese Punk Band. The song was put into an awkward position with two slow songs before it and suffers because of it. The track just doesn’t hold it own and stands out as one of the worst on the CD.

You could probably search for the artists from this album to get more idea's on Japanese music --- also, most video games have credits on the artists; most video game music is Japanese; especially when it's a Jap video game.

Yeah I do but I can never find any shops that sell the CDs so I have to rely on the internet! I love it and always have it on my MP3 player. I listen all the time, it just sounds so cool! I'm a total Japanophile!
