i dont know if there is a certain time frame where you are in the clear, i miscarried at 10 weeks, and a friend of mine at 6 months. I think that once you make it thru the first trimester you will be able to relax a little. In any event, try to relax period! i know its hard when you are so scared, but try to enjoy this time!! good luck to you!

Anxiety causes stress & tension, which isn't good for the baby ... or so they told me when I was pregnant. Supposedly the risk goes down a lot after about 9-12 weeks. I waited until 12 weeks to announce my pregnancy, just in case, and longer to announce it to people who I'd find it hard to tell about a miscarriage. I understand your concern and fear, and I know how it can increase your anxiety to be told that your anxiety is bad for the baby -- but really, it's best to try to let go of your fears. Your fear of losing the fetus is nothing next to the fear you'll have of losing the born child; pregnancy is the best time to learn how to have faith that whatever will happen, you will be alright, and try to enjoy what joy you have at this moment. Worrying that it is "too good to be true" is unhealthy if you let yourself keep it up for the whole pregnancy. When your baby is born, you'll have to finally deal with it being true -- it's much better to be prepared to accept the child.

After 12/13 weeks it drops to about 1 percent and then after 16 weeks its even less commen. It can happen at any time. Also they say once you have seen a heartbeat on a scan it drops to around 5 percent.

Try not to worry, if its gonna happen then sadly it will happen, but their is more chance it wont happen that it will.

Good Luck

Yeah my doc says after the beginning of the 5th month you can relax a little about miscarriage as the baby would most likely survive if born then.

Docs say 14 weeks but you can miscarry at any point, the risk is just higher before 14 weeks... remember though, stress can trigger a miscarriage so you need to relax.

At 11 weeks, I had an ultrasounds and the doctor said that becuase the heartbeat was so strong that my chance of miscarriage was close to none....I think it's 12-14 weeks normally though...

good luck and don't worry....keep your mind on other things...

Just relax I am pregnant with my first and I do know that before 12 weeks it's a higher risk of miscarrying. I am already 25 weeks and beyond excited! Take it one day at a time. Relax enjoy it!

Things can go wrong at anytime in the pregnancy, but once you make it to 12 weeks the chances go down dramtically. Once you make it to 23 weeks the baby has a chance of surviving outside the womb.

Most miscarriages happen in the first trimester. (First 3 months)

Congrats to you. Slow down and take a load off. All is now good in the world.
