Part of it might be a problem with the heels. I have a few pairs that I wobble in so much, and a few pairs that are so secure it feels like I'm wearing sneakers. So try are get ones that are really good quality.

Also, doing balancing exercises will help strengthen your ankles, so they won't be quite so wobbly. Good luck!

To successfully walk in stilettos and to look graceful and elegant you must take small steps - walk slowly -never ever hurry in stilettos. Place one foot in front of the other in a "catwalk pattern" much like a fashion model on a runway. Your heels are not trainers - you must consiously take smaller steps in heels. The higher the heel the smaller the step. Also, you need to watch your footing constantly, stairways, escalators, uneven surfaces, cracks and gaps in the sidewalk, loose carpeting, and slick flooring all are potentially dangerous obstacles that a committed heel wearer must overcome at each and every turn throughout the day. A little wobble in your walk is actually considered sexy......The key is to go slow, and take small steps. Good luck and I hope this helps...

Practice makes Perfect! Just walk around the house in stilettos instead of bedroom slippers. You'll get use to the feeling, and it will come naturally to you. Also try the dictionary on the head routine. It actually works. Trust, I had to do it for modeling school. But it's fun when you try it with someone else. Make a game out of it and see who can walk around the longest wearing heels with a large book on the top of your head without dropping the book.

practice practice practice

You wobble because you don't feel comfortable in them yet. Try to force yourself to stand up straight and walk with confidence.

Practice at home so that if you look like a baby deer trying to learn to walk, no one has to see it. :-)

I never wore heels until about a year ago. It took just forcing myself to work on it.

I also wouldn't suggest starting in stilletos... get you some boots or something with a medium heel and a medium width at first. It will give you some height and a little practice until you feel comfortable enough to go with skinny or spikey heels.

Marissa,

The best way to walk in heels is to walk on the balls of your feet and not walk heel-toe, like you would usually. This is also better for the heels of your shoes, and will make them last longer. Another trick is to take slightly smaller steps. If that still doesn't work, try a shoe with a bit of a thicker high heel and work on your walk with them, then switch to a skinnier heel.

To keep yourself from feeling like you are going to slip, scuff the bottom of your shoes on a surface like asphalt.

I hope that helps!

When wearing heels you walk on the balls of your foot, not using the heel much - it is NOT the same walk as flats.
If you try and use the heel, they will snap sooner than later . . . The heels are mostly for standing, not walking.
Practice walking on the balls of your feet while barefoot.
One you get that , then the shoes are simple.

Try wearing them around the house before an event where you will be wearing them out. The more you practise the easier it will become. Make certain you get a good fit when you purchase them and try starting with heels that are medium in height rather than stilletto.

Practice. The more you wear them, the better you'll get at walking. When I started wearing them, I wobbled and my feet hurt. I wore them everyday and soon the wobble went away and so did the pain.

if you cant walk good in heels, then dont try. you should start off wearing low heels, maybe an inch or so tall. then when you can walk straight in them, wear some that are a little taller
