I can still walk fine ,but with little pain.I can't run it hurts to do that.I'm 50 yrs old.Would you wait or have it replaced.I'm hoping they will come up with something better than sawing your joint out and putting a fake joint in.

Knee replacement is no guarantee for anything. Its a 50/50 chance you will have no pain and that it will be any better than now. Also if your active and you have it replaced you can expect to have it replaced a 2nd time. Now your 55 on your 2nd replacement if it went ok in surgery.Your still active from 55 to 60 and you've worn it out again,No third replacement my friend.Your stuck with what you got or no leg,you pick.I wouldn't do it until I couldn't walk.

The main reason for knee replacement is to relieve pain. If you don't have significant pain, unless there is some other indication for a knee replacement, you should be able to wait. The problem with replacing it too early is that, with the current technology in replacement joints, you new knee may wear out at some point down the line, forcing you to undergo a repeat replacement surgery. While these joints can last 20 years or longer, at 50, that means it might wear out on you!

The price of knee replacement surgery is very low in India as compared to USA, UK and Canada. My cousin also got her hip replacement surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She is totally pain free now. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as all joint surgery is not covered by insurance in USA or by NHS in the UK. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
