Theres some very cool paint by numbers stuff you can buy. Included is the canvas or board with an outline of the picture you will paint with each section numbered according to what color to use. Also included is the paint and brush and other bits and pieces. You should have painted that in a few short hours. It will look so professional when you're done you'll want to frame it and you'll be so proud of yourself.

I have chosen to use the type that have the velvet background because the finish is of a much better quality.

Although this may seem to be cheating to some, what it does for the artist is teach them the techniques and how to use the mediums and what to use in just a few short hours and obviousley the more you do of these things the better you become at it.

In time you wont need to paint by numbers but paint what you see, in pictures or real life ;)

Acrylic paint is cheaper and easier to use than oil paints. so i would start with a cheap brand student-grade brand like Liquitex Basics. You don't need every shade, but it would be best to buy a book on how to paint, or join a community class because even with picking the shades of paint there are a couple concepts that would take too long for me to type.
