Why do I have a feeling that the NFL is going to let the Saints win the Super Bowl? I have had this feeling all year long. No team can have that big of a turnaround in one year with all the changes they made. NO WAY!! I get the feeling they want people to pay attention to the New Orleans area and the Katrina victims. I think the NFL might not want the Saints to move out and make a move to San Antonio either. With a win, it might cement them in New Orleans for a few years. I felt that way about the Patriots a few years back when they won the Championship after 09/11. What's your take? Just sounds like to much of a Mike Tyson fight, FIXED.

Exactly what I think. you nailed it. Put your bets in now. New Orleans is in for sure. If the nfl isnt rigged then why did they have to make up a tuck rule the year after they called it to put the PATs in the Superbowl after 9-11. I believe referees have overall control of a game. Just one pass interference, or fumble call can and has changed many playoff football games. Its bogus.

Yeah that was a big turnaround. What you and everyone else who sees that has to remember is that that would be a valid point if the Saints had been that bad for the few years before Katrina also. In fact they were'n. In the 5 years leading up to Katrina the Saints were...
10-6
7-9
9-7
8-8
8-8

Not stella but the word most people (not just in N.O. but football followers in general) seemed to echo was that this incarnation of the team had talent but always seemed to under-achieve.
Then Katrina hit and what was a 500 team basically hit rock bottom. The team was not as bad as the record was last year. Taking the same 500 team and adding some key players and a new coach and all of a sudden they became a playoff contender again.

Let me preface this, not saying they are "Super Bowl" bound but just saying it's less suprising that they had such a turnaround when you realize that the Katrina season was more a fluke than the norm for "this" incarnation of the Saints.

You are totally wrong!! I am from Baton Rouge and am a Saints fan. How can the NFL let a team win the Super Bowl? Are you kidding. That is so absurd. The saints definitely deserve to be in the position they are in! They made such a big turnaround because of Drew Brees (2nd in MVP), a GREAT coach in Sean Payton (coach of the year), Reggie bush & deuce (one of the best running tandems), marques colston (an amazing rookie), and many more reasons. How would the NFL let the Saints win the Super Bowl, anyway?! This team had one of the hardest schedules, faced a hot eagle team (6 game winning streak), and now are facing the bears in soldier field! Don't tell me that can't make a turnaround like what they did! They made such a big turnaround BECAUSE they made the changes they made!

Geaux Saints! all the way.......

Short Answer: The NFL is not rigged, too many people would have to be involved...someone would find out.....and no, the saints will not win the bowl.

Long answer:

Like I said in the short answer...The NFL isnt 'rigged' in my opinion. Too many people would have to know. There would be 106 players (53 on each team) countless coaches and owners etc...And people in the offices......This type of secret would not be kept for long...

On to the Saints:

They are and UNDERDOG against the bears (Vega$ has the line at +3 right now 1:30 PM PST Jan 16) and they most certainly would be underdogs against either the Colts or the Pats.......The odds of them winning on the road in Chicago, then going on to win the superbowl against either one of the AFC teams is:

(4.5 - 1) which is the longest of any of the other teams

In other words, if you bet 100$ you will win 450$ plus your money back (the 100$ you bet) if you bet right now that the saints will win the Superbowl. THAT is how long the odds are.

So, if you truly feel the saints will win, put up a good amount of money and cross your fingers....but it probably isn't going to happen.

There is no way for the NFL to fix games. There are way too many variables. The truth is that the Saints got a very good quarterback in Brees. They had a great RB in Deuce. They got another great RB in Bush. They have a great WR in Stallworth. The rest of the team is also pretty good. The coach has done a great job of getting them fired up. I first thought the Saints were a bit of a fluke, but the more I see, the more I believe. I am not a Saints fan and am sick to death of the whole NO thing and Katrina, but I like good football and the Saints are get'in it done.

I know where your coming from. It the same reason the refs let the Saints beat the Eagles last week on several phantom calls. The fact is I spent two months in New Orleans right have Katrina hit to settle insurance claims. I found the city and the surrounding area to be nothing but a hostile racist city. Outside of the residence I can't think of anyone who really gives a crap about that crappy place. It's been a year and a half since the storm hit and that place is still a **** hole. It can fall off the map for all I care.

I thought the Colts would win, but Brees was slinging balls all over the field. I've never seen so much precision passing! He is one of those great quarterbacks of all time. He was a loser in San Diego, until he started ballin! Then he goes to the Saints, and really shows us how great he is! Now he's a champion! He's great, an inspiration to us all. Peyton Manning is a class act! Nobody in the world has a right to hate him! C'mon, MVP, Peyton is awesome! Mike Carey is right, sorta. The NFL feels sorry for the Haitian people that are suffering from the earthquake. The city of New Orleans has a strong bond with Haiti. That's why there is a Lombardi Trophy in New Orleans now. EVERYONE has a bad game now and then. That's how life goes. Hey, Rocket01, the lowly BUCS beat the Saints this season. THAT'S WHO!!!

NFL fixed? Give me a break.

Do you know how many people would have to be "insiders" for the NFL to be fixed? Especially for an entire season? The players, the coaches, the cheerleaders, the annoucers, the trainers, the writers, the cameramen, the producers, the owners.

I mean don't you think somewhere that someone would crack the leak because they could not stand it ethically.

For some reason i sense a sore loser from your comments.

The more fixed of a season is if they would have won last year when they didn't have a home, but fought just like the Lousiana residents did to make where ever they were exiled to into home.

Not to sure and I live in Louisiana. Anything is possible even a fix.
Anytime the Saints spank Dallas a fix is not out of the question.
The Saints will play the Chicago Bears they beat them well I guess it will be the first time in over 60 years that they have gone to the super bowl.
But knowing the Saints like I know the Saints they will be over confident and end up losing the game and their chance of going to the Super Bowl.

You say no team can have that big a turnaround?......apparently they can cause the Saints are going to the NFC championship game, not because of the sympathy from the NFL but because we have a d*** good football team. Respect it!! and so do the Pats.....We are no longer Katrina Victims as you like to call us, we are Survivors...we didnt give up on our team nor our city, and now our team is paying us back for our loyalty...GEAUX SAINTS GEAUX!!
