If I download music from itunes, does it save it as MP3 format? My car sterio supports MP3 but no other format so I need to make sure that I'm not going to waste my money on an ipod if it won't work in car.

Music downloaded from iTunes will be automatically saved in ACC format -- an Apple construct. You can convert from that format to other formats in iTunes. As the other answerer said... if you get an adapter to run your iPod to your car stereo, your car stereo will not care what format your iPod music is saved in.

If the stereo supports Ipod it wont matter what the format is(apple loseless, acc, mp3, or any other format that ipod supports)

Save most of your money and buy a lookalike direct from China with far more features.

One firm I've used several times is www.uxcell.com but I have used others.

Music copies across to them straight from Windows by drag and drop, just like any other file. Built in radio and built in recorder as well. Around $50 for really good models with lithium-ion batteries and all the features.

Yes it saves as mp3 format but only if you use limewire and not itunes.

Any music that you purchase from iTunes is going to be saved as and mp4...but if you want to make sure that you can only have mp3's, you can get all your music from limewire.com.
