Because they are prissy and their parents overindulge them. They will grown up to be spoiled, demanding and pain-in-the-butts with their claim to entitlements.

I saw someone wrote that that's where all the nutrients are, which is a myth that parents made up to get kids to eat the crust. If anything it has less nutrients because that's the part that's been exposed to the most heat. I think that kids don't like the crust because it's got a different texture. The middle is pure soft happiness, but when you throw in the crust it ruins the whole effect.

I'm trying to think back to early childhood days here...

I think that I, personally, never liked the edges of the bread because I didn't like bread very much. It wasn't tasty, or pleasing. It was just a vehicle for what was inside of the bread. The crust tastes very bread-like, and I think it's a taste that you more or less grow into. Tastes change, and as a kid, I only wanted to eat things that tasted "good." Good to a child and good to an adult are on totally different levels.

I am an adult and I still like to cut off the crust. There are so many reasons. Everyone is different. I do it because crust might be hard, taste different, the wrong color or texture. I am so happy when people make me sandwiches and cut off the crust.

Because the crust is gross... yuck. lol, j/k... when I was a kid, I had to have the crust off my bread becasue my Grandma did it to spoil me and it always brought fond memories of that.

I still have the crust off my bread at 20.
