I am dissapointed to find out that my wife is having a girl..I saw myself having a first born son. But I will love the little girl of course. I was wondering what everyone else hoped for? Was anyone initially dissapointed?

Of course the only important thing is health..don't bore us with that tired cliche.

My husband wanted a girl! When we found out we were having a son, he was pretty disappointed. I was super happy though!
It's kind of funny, now I kinda miss the fact that I will never be able to buy a little pink dress for my child. And my husband loves seeing my son dressed up in his favorite football teams jersey!
So you really just end up accepting and loving no matter what. The disappointment will go away as soon as you see those little eyes staring at you! I think it's really normal to go through those emotions!
Take Care!

I think it's a guy thing to want a boy first even though I wanted a boy. We found out 2 weeks ago it's a girl and we got way mroe excited than I thought we would. Girls are almost always attached more to the dad and you will see when she's here. I think it's normal to be somewhat dissapointed but I love the fact tgar you did say you will love her (of course). Take it one day at a time and good luck with your Daddy's Little Girl!

25 weeks with my first!

When I first found out I was pregnant, I wanted a girl sooo bad. I had a boy. It was hard to get used to, I never had any boys in my family,so I had no idea what I was getting into.Once my son was born, everything fell into place. Im really glad that I had a boy instead of a girl the first time. Now I have a little girl and she has a brother to protect her! Believe me, once you have your little girl, everything will change. It was meant to be! Good luck!

I really wanted a girl, because I'm so much like my mom and my dad calls me the clone, and my mom and I are really close. When I found out I was having a boy, I was truly devastated. I almost cried. I'm glad we found out at the ultrasound at 22 weeks, because I had 16 weeks to adjust to the idea of a son, and now I couldn't imagine having a girl, I just love my baby boy!

Give yourself time to get used to the idea, and you'll realize that you love the baby no matter what, and once it's born it'll be hard to imagine anything else!

When I was pregnant with my first, my husband wanted a girl so bad. When I found out the baby was a boy, I cried because I thought that he would be so disappointed. When he found out it was a boy, I couldn't believe how happy he was. We now have two boys and one girl and we are expecting another girl next month.

Whatever sex the child happens to be, all you really want is for them to be healthy. Both sexes are so special in everyway. Good luck to you.

i guess if you have your hopes up for one or the other there is some dissapointment but like you said you will love it either way. the main thing to remember is regardless of what you are having to be thankful that its a healthy baby. besides, after she is here you will look back and say why did i ever want a boy...congrats

Just be thankful that you and your wife were able to have a child, and that it is born healthy with all it's fingers and toes. I only ever wanted to have one child, a girl, but I got four boys instead. And I haven't regretted it one bit.

If I answer this truthfully then yes I def wanted a boy and that is what I ended up having. As soon as I had him though I kinda thought to myself it didn't really that much after all. I am happy I got my boy though! :)
