in class my teacher made an alien bug model out of marshmallows (yeah, i know, weird). She gave the boy one a penis with a tiny little marshmallow. I know this might soung stupid but do actual insects have sex or do they lay eggs or what?

It was an alien bug, so who knows.
But, the genitals did not seem to be the correct size for the boyy.
What was the point???

Maybe. There are two different ways to reproduce - asexually and sexually. Asexual is when you can reproduce alone. Sexually is when two organs are needed to reproduce. Sexual reproduction can happen internally or externally, and requires both sperm and egg. Some animals have penises that retract and some don't. I think majority of insects do not have sex but lay eggs. Don't quote me on this because I'm not 100% sure if I'm right...biology was a long time ago...

it depends on the bug..... yes most mate then they make eggs, then they hatch... but some r heraphites (not sure of spelling, which means they have both the sperm and the egg inside thier bodys. but most insects that have different sex organs, well u cant exactly see the penis. it is so microscopic adn/ or is inside the body (i know weird)

I have seen flies mating before now, so I would say yes to sex.
