The word "of" in Math means to multiply. If you remember that, whenever you see "of" you're multiplying. So 1/10 (1 over 10 or one tenth) of (or times) 100 is as follows:

1/10 * 100

When dealing with fractions remember a whole number is the same as being over 1. So 100 = 100/1 (100 over 1)

1/10 * 100/1

When multiplying fractions always multiply across. Multiply the numerators (top numbers) and multipy the denominators (numbers on the bottom).

1 * 100 = 100

10 * 1 = 10

You're left with 100/10. 100 divided by 10 is 10. 10 is your final answer. Work the entire problem out as follows:

1/10 * 100
(1/10 of 100)

Write out as:
1/10 * 100/1

Multiply Across:

100/10

Simplify:

10

Hope this helps...Good Luck in your Math.
