I'm currently scheduled to have a pap smear a few days before I expect my period to start. Is it okay to have a pap smear just before my period starts (it definitely won't have started yet), or should I reschedule my appointment?

You can still have it.

My Gyn appointments are usually between a few days to a day before my period. It makes no difference as long as you're not bleeding when you have the pap. My Gyn told me this.

I've gone to my gyn both before and after my period for pap smears. It's no biggie, they just obviously don't want you coming in when you're having it :) Both of these times, my paps came out fine, so, from my experience at least, you should have no problems.

Good luck!

Ideally, it should be during the 2nd week after your period ends, but this will be fine. As long as there isn't any blood to possibly alter or impair the sample, you should be fine.

To be absolutely sure, just call your doc and double-check; I'm betting they'll say the same thing however.

there's no information that pap smears can lead for your era. you've been about to commence because it were see you later because you had a era. i recognize those with PCOS have a tendency to have abnormal sessions that are complicated to foretell, so it became probable very few time to commence.

It's fine. You don't want to have it done while you actually have your period as the blood can obscure the test results, so if you have an appontment before your period, it;s fine,
