Generally, they will tell you that the results will be processed and you will be contacted later. I have never been told immediately after a polygraph or voice stress analysis what my results were. Of course, my tests were not taken at my request, so it may be a different story. I would assume that if you initiate and pay for the test, they would give you the results sooner.

Why are you taking the polygraph? Do you commit a crime? Is it for a job?
I applied for a job one time and they had a problem with people stealing merchandise from the warehouse. This company was big and they had ads on television, the building took up a city block. It was part of the employment process, I had never taken one before.
There are no needles involved, all they do is strap some bands around your arms and tell you seat back and relax. The person ask you a hole bunch of questions pertaining to yourself and your job background. For this company the focus was had you every stolen anything value over $10? Do you know of someone who has stolen something over $10? Have you ever purchase stolen merchandise for someone? Have you ever kept merchandise that was stolen from a company or store? It goes on and on with questions like that. It took about twenty minutes, and then the person will say OK, that it contact your employer for the results.

The fun things was after I had been working there for almost a year, US Customs came in one day to raid the place. It turned out that the owner's son was involved with the stolen merchandise. He was wheeling and dealing in drugs for the merchandise that was in the warehouse.

You should get a copy in the form of a video of the test being performed on you.
You can also receive a written transcript of the actual questions and responses/answers that are brought up during the exam.
Extra charges may apply, so I would inquire about expenses before the test date.
