My advice would be stay clear of Dubai and stay in Abu Dhabi instead. Its not jam packed, theres plenty of great bars and clubs (mostly all in hotels) you can get some reasonably cheap hotels and getting about is easier. Dubai is only about an hour away if you wanted to go have a look. The Hotel Al Ain Palace (or Ally pally as it is commonly known) is reasonable. Its quite clean and in a good spot. (only problem is it has a bar which is frequented by hookers).

Cheap hotels, in dubai, i doubt.. i think the best thing you can do is book a package from a travel agent. They can give you the best rates coz they got plenty to compare. As places to visit, I say go to mall of the emirates, ski dubai is there. Go to bab el shams for a truely eastern experience. Go to madinat jumaira. You will find a dubai city guide in the airport, check it out. Oh, and if your coming before Feb, you should check out Global village.

Hi I am in Dubai at the moment, the cheaper end of the market is in bur dubai, but If you look at expedia.co.uk they have some very good packages, to do, definately the gold and diamond park, the gold souk is an experience, dragonmart and Karama definate musts for bargains. Others have said about madinat jumeriah, but jumeriah beach park is good for swimming, or a beach club for the day.
