A small girl went out to her front yard and a few minutes later she was kidnapped. Her name was Amber and she was the daughter of a deceased policeman...it took off from there.
It is nationwide alert now and it is working well.

I can't remember the exact state she was from but a few years ago there was a young girl that was Kidnapped by a Monster and sexually molested and killed named Amber. Thus the father pushed for a alert system to notify when a child has been abducted.

go on the crime library and put in Amber alert, it will tell you all about her. Also lifetime made a movie about her.
