Think about it. What happens when you get wet outside? You get cold because when water evaporates it absorbs energy. Evaporation is an endothermic reaction.

What happens when you take the lid off a boiling pot? You get burned. This is because water condenses. Condensation is an exothermic reaction, which releases energy.
