Go deeper into your computer and check the internet files.

I think the bigger concern is why your children feel they have to hide things from you. I'm assuming you suspect them of viewing pornography or the like on the internet. Sexual curiosity is completely natural, if you forgot what it was like when you were their ages.

If you haven't already, I suggest you talk to them about sex and let them know if they have any questions or concerns that they can come to you.

I've looked at internet pornography since I was about 13 and now I'm in my early 20's. I can honestly say there has been no harm and no foul. Unless of course, you're religion absolutely forbids it.

However, I hope you realize this isn't a matter of religion and morality. It's a matter of hormones and sexual development. Whatever you do, do NOT make your children feel embarrassed or that sexuality is "dirty." That can really mess kids up.

but if you REALLY want to be snoopy and go against my better judgment instead of having an open dialogue and understanding about these things, there's a down arrow on the url address bar. Click that and it may have some of the sites they've visited recently. Depending on the web browser you use, you may be able to bring up temporary internet files which may be "cookies" from the sites they've been on. Open your browser, click on tools, and internet options. Then open "Temporary Internet Files."

Hope this helps you one way or the other.

You can go into the temporary internet cache to see what they have been doing. In IE go to Tools > general tab > ender temp internet files click on settings button > click on view files to see where they have been recently. If they have deleted this, you can see this info in the recycle bin because temp internet files get sent there upon deletion.

Plus you should install a pc monitor to keep track of them in the future. You should set up a user account with limited power (can't install programs or change settings) for them to use & then install a monitoring program (any compusa, bestbuy or other pc store will have a selection for you to choose from - or google it) that is password protected so the little devils can't monkey with it.

If they deleted the history icon. You can restore it by clicking on view > toolbars > customize at the top of IE.

Sounds like they are erasing the history, normally this would be a goos thing but I can see why you'd want to see it.

There may be a program somewhere that keeps the internet history from being deleted but most people are more concerned with getting rid of it. You could also try looking at the temporary internet files.

Net Nanny is a good choice.

I actually have a recorder on my computer. you can go to download.com and then type in keylogger, it will bring up some results, some might say download now or buy now, and u can just download it, use it as a trial and then re new it in 15 days or so, and some of them they are the full programs not trial. they basically run in the background and your kids cant find it, you can have it automatically start when the computer does and it when you want to see the log, you just either type in your password, which all you have to do is like type in any word document or like you are typing something online, but it will bring up your logger, it has to be something that no one would type. like monkey8585 or something, i would check it out, they are all different, but i always keep one on mine since i have people go on my computer at times when i ask them not to. let me know if you need help. :)

On a PC, (personal computer) you click start at bottom left of screen. If you have windows XP you go to the control panel then check history.

Your children might of also just checked off the address bar which is located at the top of the page where the icon says View. You will then see a history bar and you just click on it.

First off I agree with the other answer.. get some software like NetNanny. FOr now, if they have deleted the history, you could go check for cookines under todays date or the date in question, it will give you avery good idea of where they were today.

Good Luck

Press and hold Control and H to open up the history sidebar, if they are deleting the history, they should no longer be aloud to surf the internet. Until they start behaving and grow more mature, then they can use it again.

Get a keystroke logger and set it in stealth mode...

Another thing you can do but time consuming is doing a system restore to the previous day

Put an administrative password on your computer so that they can't use it when you're not around.
