just wondering i have a 68% in math right now and i think i got bad on my math exam. it was worth 15% of our final grade. So if i get very poorly on the math exam, and get about 30% or 40% on it how much would my average mark go down by?

you have 68% of 85 = 58 already.
If you get 30% of the 15% exam you will go to:
63% overall
If you get 40% of the 15% exam you will go to:
64% overall!!!

If you got 35% on your math exam, and if the exam was worth 15% and the rest 85%, theb your final percent would be 0.85 x 68 + 0.15 x 35 = 63%. So you have dropped 68 - 63 = 5%.
