Would you rather have a job that paid well and be extremely unhappy or would you rather have a job that makes you very happy but doesn't pay well? If you had the good paying job, and you'd be lonely the rest of your life, would you still go for the money? Or would you give it up for happiness and eternal love?

Well anyone I know that has money for the most part is not happy and always wants more. I had money and a great job and gave it all up to stay home with my children and I must say I am much happier. So I would say happiness above all else....I think if you are happy you are also satisfied and therefor do not care about the money so much.

Money is essential to happiness, even the things that supposedly money can't buy - health, if you're rich, you can afford much better healthcare than if you're not; love, girls are much more likely to be attracted to someone with a fat wallet and an Aston Martin than someone without any money and an old banger... However, if you look at the very bottom end of the scale, like people in africa, whenever you see african children on tv, they're smiling and laughing, whereas in a rich country such as the US or UK, there is a high rate of teenage depression... I know i haven't really given you my opinion, but i hope this helps! JCD

In general, I'd choose happiness over money, and I'd certainly like a more fulfilling job than the one I have now. But there are other things that come into play. Say someone offered me a position that was fun and fulfilling but paid 20K less than I'm making now, with no benefits--I wouldn't leave my wife and kid high and dry just so that I could have more fun at work.

Having too much money can never buy you happiness, but it's easy to be unhappy when you don't have enough to meet your own needs.

Wow,that's a lot of different aspects of life to consider and reply to in a few words. So I will just say....
From my experience, it is easier to live/exist if you have money.
It is true money does not bring you happiness. But it does however give you the ability to make choices. It also enables you to access better health care if you or someone you care for needs it. Or therapy to deal with issues that make you unhappy whether you have money or not.
The problem with money comes when you forget what it was like,or have never known what it's like to try and live a happy life, at the wrong end of Money Street.
The problems arise when people forget who they really are!So to be accepted they attempt to assume a new persona. It never works at either end of the street.
If you are happy and poor accept it,stick together as a family and make the best of what you have got, then at least you will be more at peace within yourself .
If you are unhappy and rich look at why you feel like that,it doesn't just happen!
I have lived at No1 Money St.and at No1506.
I now live at No.253 and it suits me fine!

Quite obvious - Happiness. People who say money don't really realize it at this point but at some point in their lives will realize that money really cannot substitute happiness and/or loneliness. Sure you can "buy" temporary happiness and companionship with money but it won't be real.

Happiness has to do with the heart and matters of the heart are a lot deeper than money. It deals with people, feelings, desires, comfort, respect, companionship, love etc. When you establish that one vital connection with someone you love, you experience amazing happiness. Once you have that basic level of happiness, then comes all other materialistic joys. But without the basic yet crucial happiness, materials don't mean anything. You will feel empty inside.

No brainer my friend.

Go for happiness. It is always worth more than Money, if you have to choose between the two and they are mutually exclusive.

Finances are important to help out with happiness, but as long as you can afford your basic neccessities, and a little extra for yourself so you can do most of the things you want, go for the happiness.

Just having so much $$$ so money is not a concern is just one componant to the happiness quotient. Take it from me, my wife and I have $$, no financial worries whatsoever, but she is miserable.

We were way happier when we both were struggling to get by. Had financial worries and compromises we had to make along the way, but we were happy.

Now...things are miserable, despite our lifestyle's outward appearance.

Happiness is absolutely the most important thing. Money is simply paper that is used for exchange of THINGS. You hide it in your wallet or purse. It is something you don't want others to see how much you have or how you spend it. Once you use it, it is gone. One's feelings are always there. Happiness is not something you have to hide. The happiness you have can be shared with others. The more you give it the more you receive it. It is with you always.

Money is not the cure for all things but I honestly believe that Love is. Love is the world's biggest band-aid.
