I've been using Morpheus for years without problems.

The key to keeping from getting viruses on any file sharing program is to watch the file size. Almost all viruses are considerably smaller than an actual MP3 or other files.

If you look at the list of songs that come up when you search, and most of them are like 4-5MB, and there is one that is like 275KB, you know damn well that one isn't an MP3 (at least not of any kind of listening quality). People name the virus files the same as popular songs to get you to accidentally download them - use your brain and you should be able to avoid them.

You can't download copyrighed material unless the artist has authorized it, as in "Internet Archive."

You shouldn't download copyrighted material as it is illegal and it screws the original artist out of their rightful cut.
