There's no need to take the risk of illegally downloading "free" songs (and possible viruses and spyware with them) when you can safely and legally buy them for $.10 - $.15 each. Full albums are less than $3.00:

I've used this site for almost 2 years now and love it! Millions of songs, no software to download, and it won't put any crapware on your computer.

Take care & enjoy!

Free & legal at the same time.. Tricky.. You might get some songs where the artist has given permission to distribute some of their songs in the cyber world but the choices will surely be to less to choose from rather use Bearshare or Limewire to download songs for fee but it will not be legal. Best of luck!!!

Torrent

google for "torrent search engines" and you will find LOADS of free, spam free, advert free files.

you will need a (free) torrent client - so look for "utorrent".

As for illegal songs, there are legal ones available too (eg: out of copyright / freeplay etc) - I am working on the basis that the person is after these :)

And yes, you are right to avoid Limewire unless you love adverts, fake files and virii

No. You can't download music for free unless the artist has authorized it such as "Internet Archive."

You shouldn't download copyrighted material. You screw the artist out of his or her rightful recognition and payment for their efforts.

Morpheus, Shareaza

Be careful what you use, some of them have started tracking IP addresses of users.

It's illegal. How would you feel if people copied a book you wrote or a painting you painted?
