How do you get rid of those nasty, pesty No-see-um's, or sand knats as they are sometimes called,?

I live in the south and have found out I am highly allergic to these pesty things, I have tried, skin-so-soft, and have rubbed dry fabric softener on me and my clothes and nothing works. What about lawn sprays?

Good luck. I never found a good solution. I finally moved to Washington State, where there aren't any. Wish I could help.
