I'd give you all three

By all means, you can request anything you want. But, in my opinion and understanding, the point of the holiday is to give a gift from the heart for the purpose of showing your significant other how much you care for them. To ask for money would be trivializing the whole thing and he might as well not give you anything. To ask for money would be tantamount to telling him you don't care about the thought he put into choosing a gift, even if you don't like it.
If you're worried he may get something "wrong", instead tell him what you would really like. If you don't want anything, then ask for nothing. Money is a gift your grandmother gives you, not your boyfriend

you should be able to tell your boyfriend anything. suggest the two of you spend "special time" together in a romantic way. tell him how sad you feel when the beautiful flowers he buys for you wilt and die. remind him you are trying to keep your great figure perfect for him so you can't eat the candy in the heart shaped box and what you would really like is a trip to your favorite shopping area or a bill paid. suggest if the bill is paid you won't have to work so much and would have more time to spend with him. best of luck and happy valentine's day to you both.

i agree one hundred% with the female above me. someone's love should not be measured with valentines day presents, birthday presents, anniversary presents etc. fabric gadgets are out of date whilst it comprises showing somebody the kind you relatively care and love them. I understand that perchance you have been somewhat bummed yet whats up! a minimum of he have been given you a card and did no longer neglect thoroughly. yet do no longer degree love with flowers =) i'm optimistic he loves you purely an identical Have a sturdy valentines day =)

Yes. He will probably be happy not to have to spend a fortune on flowers which are price inflated on V-day. He will also be happy not to have to pick out something he hopes you might possibly like.

If he asks what you want, yeah.

I told my husband (when he was just my bf) that I think Valentine's Day is stupid and let's just skip it and he was all for it. If your bf doesn't ask you what you want, it's kind of rude to ask for money, but you could bring it up and say "Let's just skip it."

I think that it is o.k. to tell your bf that you want money. Just tell him that you would rather buy something for yourself that you can use instead of something that will die eventually. Sounds smart on your part.

I think the whole idea of valentine's day is to get the romanticism loose. And my dear, doing that would be extremely rude.
I' d really recommend you to not do that.

I don't see why not - tell him so you can get what you want...instead of the usual flowers/candy/card.....I tell my husband the same thing or I atleast tell him what I want. Because let's face it - men will 9 times out of 10 get it wrong anyway.....right?? ...wink....wink.....

Yes. Be sure to ask him how much it's going to be, so you'll know how much to give him for the reciprocal present.

Reminds me of my family at Christmas. Write a check, pass it to the person on your left...
