I doubt that I am gay, but cant be sure. How does one know that he is gay? How does he feel?

The only reliable way to know is to know. I realize that this doesn't make it any easier, but it is the truth. There is a time when the only thing you can say in response to the question, "How do you know if you are homosexual?" is:

The best indicator is: which sex do you fantasize having sex with? If it's the same as yours, you're most likely gay.
Guys seem to realize it and act on it earlier than girls. Many times, women marry and have children before "discovering" they're gay. Guys usually realize it around the age of 14, if not before.
People usually keep it to themselves at first and become more comfortable and open about it when they meet other gay people. The net's gay/lesbian chat rooms are helpful in that way.
A lot of people will tell you they're bisexual, but usually that's a gay person trying to claim heterosexual privileges on the basis of a couple of flings with the opposite sex.
Many people of all ages will experiment, however, with gay sex, but it doesn't make them gay.

Everyone is different. Its not really the matter of understanding its just something you know. In my case I would look at guys more offten then girls. I figured I just had some serious issues to work out. As I got older I fooled around with guys and didn't really care so much work women. I didn't think I was gay and when I did think about it i was repulsed at the fact because I didn't want to be.
Although with time came comfort and that its ok to be gay. Its just who we are. Human!

If you doubt you are gay then you are probably straight. It is almost impossible to describe a feeling - each feeling is personal to oneself and although we all talk about how we feel, we all feel quite differently and agree on a consensus.
Personally I knew I was always attracted to my own gender. I remember from a very early age being fascinated by other boys bodies, so, as I grew older and the fascination grew into sexual fantasy I began to realise and accept that I am gay.

Oh, you mean emotionally "feel," Sorry...was just having a bit of fun.
I just knew, always did. Can't really explain it, but it wasn't something that suddenly came upon me like a revelation or anything. I just knew...sadly I fought against it for many years.
Then I got wise, got over the self-loathing and learned that the world was NOT going to come to a screatching hault if I just accepted myself and stopped living a lie.

yeah well my friend is gay and he says hes attracted to a guys body and stuff. he likes them SEXUALLY. in my head i like them he as a general attractivness.not so sexually.

well do find yourself more attracted to men or women if its men you are possibly gay if you attracted to both sexes then perhaps you are bi-sexual.
