people from so many different walks of life in situations incomprehensible to so many in our cushy lives and they don't even get compassion? Its free. Why not at the very least sympathise with them? I see so many postings bashing illegals, foreigners who don't speak the language, people on welfare, people who just in general are down and out and they're villified. Why does this happen? If people won't reach out in other ways, why not at least grant a little compassion?

I agree with you Hans, I get so tired of the rhetoric here. I think people are missing the point. Everyone assumes just because you're an immigrant or are foreign you are automatically illegal or have broken the law. One only needs to see the immigration category to see what i am talking about. I think people are missing your point as well. Many postings here are bashing people and name calling them, without even trying to understand what they are talking about or asking or who they are. It's the language used by the answerers and the stance they take. It's very bothersome. Some even goes as far as racism and name calling. Once again, you only have to see the Immigration section to know what i am talking about. Just don't go straight into vile name calling or assume everything everybody do is illegal. And just lighten up on the language you use. Show some compassion and understanding. I know you guys in America are frustrated with the Immigration situation, but there is no need to go bashing everyone who is not from your country. That i have been told, is not the American way.

I'm not a feminist, so i really can't say but i do know some professional Dommes and they, i'm sure, do not think men lack compassion. Where do you come up with such an idea? If you're referring to football-loving, beer drinking, farting, burping men, then it may appear that way but in other situations they can be very accommodating. You just have to train a submissive man to respond when given clues. If a man has no clue, then, yes, it would appear that he has no compassion but i think that's only in extreme cases. After all, compassion is a human emotion.

Compassion doesn't mean we have to let people walk all over us. There are laws that must be obeyed just like everyone else. Being from another country isn't a free pass. But as for the language i generally agree, although they should learn some english.

I do have compassion for the single mom left by the husband/boyfriend to raise children alone. It's so stressful to have children, a job, keep a roof over their heads, food, daycare, make sure they do well in school and every other thing they need. I myself understand sometimes there have no one to turn to. But there are others who abuse the system and use it for all it's worth, making it hard on the ones who truly need it. They sometimes can't get a job for the hours needed to have daycare. They should develop a night care some where to help moms who may be able to work, but are only offered nights or weekends or some other off shift.

Personally I think all these uppity Americans that get so mad at Spanish-speaking immigrants should shut up and learn to speak Inuit, Sioux, Arapaho or whatever...They all came here and kept speaking a foreign language (the native tongue of England) without bothering to master the local language, then they act all indignant when folks from South America do the same thing!

compassion is for those whose strive to come out of that situation and better themselves but not at the expense of those who follow the law. social security should be for only 3 years then outie. learn the language. nobody just wakes up and says i am going to America. teach yourself the language before you come here.and as far as the down and out, i have a pretty hard life. my wife has terminal brain cancer, i have a 7 year old and live week to week. but i am not running to uncle sam or anyone else for that matter. people want to pass the buck. step up i say.
