It's urgent, a remedy other than the doctor?

I personally have had a pretty bad time with hemorrhoid's in the past and went to the doctor for a very painful examination. From that moment on I decided I would NEVER darken his doorstep again. not to be indelicate, but he told me that the "consistency we are looking for here" is cream of wheat. He told me to go to the drugstore and buy something called KONSYL and put a spoonful of it in a glass of OJ every morning.. I buy OJ with pulp and when this is stirred into it, you can't taste it and because of the pulp already in the OJ, you don't notice it. Drink it down or it will get thick, And, it will do the trick. Get some prep H, use that and the Konsyl and your little problem should go away after about a week. Keep on with the Konsyl. It is in a red and while container near the Metamucil. Unless your problem is so severe that it needs surgery, this should relieve a lot of problems.

Aveeno lotion for dry skin really works well. Or after you take a bath/ shower at night oil your feet ( pay close attention to your heels) with vaseline and put socks on. Sleep with the socks on, continue this for a couple days and that should work. Good luck!!

You could try a sitz bath with an alternation of cold and hot water this helps with pain releif and swelling. a sitz bath is when pelvic area is immersed in water and the rest of the body isn't. another thing you could try is a wtich hazel compress to tone the veins and relieve some discomfort. Also take a look at what sort of foods you are eating, too much refined foods can cause a fiber deficiancy which makes your bowel moments harder and less frequent so stopping junk food and white breads and changing to a more wholegrain diet can help prevent further chances of hemorrhoids. hope this helps a bit

I have had this problem for year. It occured after giving birth to children which is common if it was hard childbirth.
As long as I stay regular and eat lots of fiber I dont have too much a problem. But they flare up every now and again and the worst are internal as you can not reach them with Prep H. These creams and suppositories work for external.

I was just reading in my Natural Medical Book and it stated to drink Nettle Tea. Nettle is a herb, so this is a herb tea. Drink as much as you can over a week.

Here are things that help:

Vitamin C
Rutin
Acidophilis
Vitamin E oil or cream

Additional Help:

bran, unprocessed foods
drink 6-10 glasses of water a day
Exercise
25 to 30 grams of fiber each day
bag with ice cubes
warm bath

Avoid:

coffee
chocolate and cocoa
cola

Also try feverfew another herb. It is best to try to take care of these without meds. Natural is best. These happen when the viens in your rectum swell. You need to get the swelling down and then work on preventing the problem.

You need fibre.

Store bought meds will work but sounds like you might adjust your diet.

Eat green veggies every day, b. sprouts, squash, broccolli, very green salads, (no white lettuce) good whole grains for breakfast. Fresh fruit.

Get away from processed food. Watch for your bodies reaction to cheese and peanut butter. They are good, but need to bebalanced with fibre.
