My baby is 5 months and still only eats formula. Over the past few days her poo has been frequent, thin, runny and very acidic. It's causing her a terrible stinging rash. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? After all, she's eating the same thing she's been eating for months. Any help would be very much appreciated!

Sounds like she might be teething. My daughter's often gets watery poo and goes all the time when she is teething. You could offer her some cereal to help harden her poo up a little bit. Also, my daughter's doctor gave her a prescription for Nystatin. It works the best on the really bad, stubborn diaper rash. If you want, call the doctor and ask for a prescription for that. Good Luck!

it truly is a puzzling challenge because babies epidermis is really comfortable. Over using products, and combining them to confirm what's operating may reason the only to react with yet another. i'd propose a good luke warmth bathtub. enable her sit down in the water and do not upload bubbles, or some thing to the water. Use a tender wash fabric to wipe her bottom without causing him discomfort. proceed to enable him delight in the water, it will experience soothing. because she has a rash make positive that his frequent temp isn't too warm for his tender epidermis. slightly cooler water temp yet nonetheless tender.(turn the nice and cozy temperature on in the homestead). when you're taking her out of the water do not over dry her with a towel. gently dry her off and enable her be without a diaper for quite of time. Airing the section can artwork wonders. After about 15 - 20 minutes, Use a Q-tip to adhere to some A & D ointment. Use adequate to coat the rash and amplify it previous the rash section to guard his different epidermis. Diaper her, and make positive you stay diligent about replacing her better than you generally might want to. Urine in her diaper also going to be acidic and burns like loopy too. each and anytime you adjust her (inspite of if he's only moist) use a tender infant wash fabric with only water to wipe her off, and reapply clean A & D. (or some thing similar) in case you adjust her without making positive the ointment is freshly utilized, it doesn't provide her epidermis conceivable to breath (with a view to talk). Its so puzzling to confirm your infant crying and in discomfort. i understand it properly. each so often we opt for to help them a lot we over do it attempting to come across a speedy remedy. i wish she's feeling extra useful quickly.

Definitely sounds like teething. The runny consistency comes from all of the drool they are swallowing. Balmex is my cream of choice. Slather it on a dry bottom until all is clear. To speed up the drying process, carefully smooth corn starch on her bottom so the cream doesn't seal in any wetness.

Is there anything going on around your baby that could be causing her stress? This same thing happened to my friends baby when they were moving. As soon as they got settled in their new house, it went away. The other advise you got from other readers sounds good, but if those things don't work, try looking for possible stressors in her environment (or yours)

She may have a GI virus, or it maybe that her digestive tract is producing more acids and her diet needs to be adjusted. You should take her to a pediatrician, and watch out for dehydration. Thoroughly clean her after every change, and put zinc oxide cream, not lotion, on her butt to act as a block on every change.
