I keep reading that questions where women say they're having sinus or nasal congestion...is this really a sign of pregnancy? Did any of you have that? Thanks!

I had never heard of it as a symptom before, but then I read all these girls posting it as a symptom they have, and that's why I wanted to ask women who KNEW if this was true, or merely a wives tale. Thanks!

I have heard of it, it's caused by increased blood volume. It's not a sign of pregnancy because it's so common, but it is a symptom of pregnancy.

I have never heard of congestion being a sign of early pregnancy. Tiredness, frequent urination, moodiness, and with my first pregnancy I craved strawberry milk all the time before I found out I was pregnant and I hardly drank milk before that.

yes the membranes become enlarged and swollen, causing a feeling of congestion. i wouldnt use that as an only symptom though, alot of times women try to see every symptom as a positive sign.

Many women experience bloating, mild cramping and slight backache as a pre-menstrual physical symptom, and the same thing happens in early pregnancy as the uterus grows.

Cramping after conception
Many women worry when they feel mild cramping, tugging and pulling in the early weeks after conception.

Cramps and aches
Aches and pains during pregnancy are common, as are muscle cramps in your feet, thighs or legs. The exact reason for this is not known, although it is suspected that the expansion of the uterus may put pressure on the nerves and blood vessels in the leg, causing leg cramps and some occasional pain.

Constipation and stomach cramps
Constipation can also be common in early pregnancy, brought on by two changes in your body. Increased hormones, whereby your body produces progesterone, which relaxes the smooth muscles of the intestinal wall and stomach, resulting in a slow down of digestion, and your blood volume increasing.

Backache in early pregnancy
Back ache in early pregnancy symptom can be "a real pain," literally. Your posture and torso are thrown out of alignment later in pregnancy, and with the weight mostly in the front of your torso, it pulls on your back. The feeling is quite like you wearing a backpack on your front instead of your back. This changes your posture and puts a strain on your back. In other words, the center of your gravity shifts.

I agree with you it seems to come up often, but I've never seen it listed as a sign of pregnancy

I didn't get that, I got other "odd" things

I suppose it 'could' be possible, your body may create more mucus to form the plug. I didn't notice extra congestion in any of my three pg's though.
