If you answer it one way please state that with some evidence
I myself say that there is no difference if you did a poll that showed that 70% of all men cheated that would indicate that the percentage of women would be similar even if it is not 70% because they make up half the population.

I was watching this program on discovery channel where british researchers ask a random group of men and women how many sexual partners they have had the women average about 7 in their answers the men about 22.

When the hook up everyone to a lie detector the women total went up to about 12 the men went down to about 13 so what it shows is both sexes lie for different reasons it appears men exxagerate and women low ball (no pun intended)

Stereotypically and historically men have cheated on their spouses more than their loving wives. Because women were not accepted in the work force so they did not have the opportunity to become the cheating slut puppies men have been.

However, through the advent of feminism and women entering the workforce they are having more contact with other people and have adopted the feeling that what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

The real question is this...... Why is it when a man has sex with his 16 yr old female student he goes to prison for 20 years, and when a woman does the same with a male student she only gets one year?

It's not possible to get an accurate percentage because of cultural differences, economic differences, social differences etc. Plus it is also the luck of the draw. You may ask 5 women who many partners they had and they could all tell you the truth and be only 3 partners. Or you can ask another group and they could all have had 30 partners.
The percentages will be swayed greatly by this. If 1 woman had 2 male partners, that would be a 33% for each male and 66% for the woman.

statistics can only be used as a guide line and not a fact.

Here is a perfect example.
In baseball a pitcher can have a "No Hitter" but their could have easily been 20 players actually hit the ball. It's just that the team mates made all the catches.

Interesting question - however "british researchers ask a random group of men and women" the show did or did not say they were married. Therefore cheating on whom?
In a married or comitted relationship I believe men may cheat more then women by a little bit. However if the people are just talking partners, there is no cheating going on, a interesting statistic, I also would like to see the show and review the results.

Hi, I have two thoughts on this matter:

1) Your end answer is probably correct but your logic is flawed, just because males/females are 50/50 doesnt mean the % cheating will be the same a) because if one is not attached, they are not cheating, so 5 women could cheat and no men if the men arent attached. Also, one woman could be with many men and vice versa. But yeah, in teh end it probably evens out.

2) Personal experience, me and my three closest female friends have all cheated. I seem to hear about more girls than guys i know cheating but this could be bcos women talk more!

I know the study you are referring to, but studies can't really be trusted. You can skew studies and statistics to be in your favor. I have looked at several different studies (in school) and what I found is that in certain areas of the world it is equal, in certain cultures men cheat more and in others women cheat more. There was one done at my school that showed more women were cheating than men. I'm sure if another were done the results could be different. There seems to be a movement among a certain type of women where they are trying to bridge the sexual gap between men and women. These women are sleeping with a lot more men than you would think. They are also treating the men how stereotypically men have treated women, badly. It's just a really screwed up situation all the way around. People should be faithful. If you want to screw around be honest.....no one gets hurt that way. As bad anyway........

There is a variance that is well supported by genetic information, as you can never trust self reports, as you can see. These were small studies, done in the South of Britain and for genealogical info. The margins separating the sexes were small, but in the males " favor ". You must remember, though, that the same women can be shared by many men, but females tend to be more discriminating.

I don't think women cheat nearly as much as men do, although the men are b***ing someone!!! I think women tell little fibs more. Little white fibs. We may not cheat as much as men but some of us (Not Me Dear God) are catching up to you!!! (good question) Good Luck!!! @8-) Seriously though, have you read Dorian Grey? It's heavy reading and men still haven't learned a thing from it. I think it should be required reading in High School or even before!!! The BOOK itself---------in middle school, again in high school, and again before they marry, and after their divorce, and then once more before they die.
