If you just go by Super Bowl records, the NFC is a better conference. In recent years though the AFC definitely has seemed to be more dominant. AFC teams were significantly better in inter-conference play the last two seasons and have won all but one of the last six Super Bowls (2006- Steelers, 2005- Patriots, 2004- Patriots, 2002- Patriots, 2001- Ravens).

If you go by the winners of the super bowls then the NFC is better by the score of 21-19 but I believe the AFC has shown also a consistency that has brought them back from a 19-12 deficit to get to the score of today.

the nfc has two more super bowl wins than the afc, but that's because the afc blew 85 to 97, 11 of the 1st 15 super bowls were won my afc teams, but then 15 of the next 16 super bowls were won by nfc teams, but as you can see from the past 10 years, the afc dominance is back... so its definitely the afc

the NFC has 2 teams with 5 rings and the AFC has 1. the NFC is better all time.

NFC. 2-5-time superbowl champions (49ers, Cowboys) vs 1-5-time winner(Steelers).

AFC or NFC, who cares? Its football! And ain't no designated hitter and tougher ball park BS! Same field Mano-a-Mano! I love football! Law of averages sez when its Superbowl 1000 it'll be a 50/50 split!
