My first year I did fine but last fall I burned out and stopped going to classes. Everything was just too repetitive, felt like I wasn't even learning anything. Is there some way to only transfer my first year's grades? I think the answer is no but is there some way around this?

Nope. You transfer everything you have taken at that school. You can take some of the classes again in Community College or another school and be able to change the outcome.

The most hopeful answer I can give you is a maybe, and that much depends on the school and requires more work from you.

Talk to a counselor, or the registrar, or read the school's catalog carefully. What you are looking for is the ability to retake a class for the purpose of erasing a grade. Some schools will completely drop a previous grade from the transcript if you repeat a course and do better the second time around. Others will keep both grades on the transcript with both counting on your GPA. Others will keep both grades on the transcript but only count the better one toward your GPA.

Cannot give a better answer without knowing what school and what rules they apply.

Good luck.

It depends on the school you are applying to. Some of them are really picky about whether or not you even get to transfer credit at all.

If you dropped out of classes, you most likely got 'incompletes' rather than failed grades - they may not affect you (just have a good story to tell the new school as to why you dropped out - something that will get a little compassion, but without making you sound like a whiner). A lot of schools are just interested in getting your cash, so they can be lenient in their enrollment.

I dont think so. sorry u can always go to the palce u plan to transfer and talk to them about your grades, and they may just put you on acacdemic probation or not give you all your hours. the person who said u can reapply as a first time freshmen that would stupid, becuase if u allready did one year fine why retake everything and if u had to recieve any fin. aid for that year theres no way around it. Good luck!

I tried same thing. they want a current official transcript and they take the whole thing. Might as well not tell them that youve been in school before if you only want one year. Apply as a first time freshman.
