My daughter would like a hand-held console (like a Game Boy) for her 8th birthday.
Which one do you think I should get her? (please make sure there are games for her age available for it!)

She already has a gameboy colour - but has played it to death (and it has died!!!)

You should buy her a nintendo ds because it's more for little kids. It has a good variety of games although I would pick the psp because it's for older people like 13 or more, it has more cool features, but the games are for older people and she won't be using the extra features that it has. So buy her a ds I'm sure she'll be happy with it.

The PSP is more for an older audience whereas the Nintendo DS is more for children with more games for the younger audiences. Plus the PSP is more expensive and not really worth paying extra for since your daughter isn't all that old as she probably wouldn't use some of the extra features. I have a PSP and my sister owns a DS so I can compare both. Overall the PSP is better but more for older gamers. So I'd say a Nintendo DS is better for your daughter.

The Nintendo DS Lite is a good option. It's fairly durable and very fun.
If you can find an older Gameboy, that's an option, too. A huge game library, and I know from experiance that they can take a rather massive beating and keep on going.
The PSP isn't worth it's price.

i have two children aged 4 and 9 brought them both nintendo ds lites as they have a wide range of games for all ages. i have a sony psp myself think this is a much better machine but at a higher age level

I would buy the ds for a younger person. I have a PSP and they cost a little more but they are for older people.kids love the ds

Nintendo DS if you can afford it. It's brilliant for that age group the games can be quite expensive though
