What does it cost approximately per copy for each device. Ultimately I want to know which is cheaper. We do about 2000 copies a month.

Do you own your copier or have a service contract? Your service contract will detail how much you pay per copy. Or you can take the estimated yield of the toner (copier or printer) and divide that into the cost for the toner.

Example:
Toner cartridge costs $60.
Estimated yield is 20,000 sheets.
Cost per sheet is $0.003 per sheet.

Factor into this the cost for the machine and repairs and possible convenience and you should have your number.
