I was recently approved after 3 years of being denied, and want to know how long before I'll recieve my backpay, and if it comes in one lump sum or several payments..

it should come in a month or two,you get it in one lump amount

ssi only will backpay you for 2 years only. from the time
you received your letter of approvement.,then you will
have a person to person interview with one of the workers
then she will tell you the amount and the lump sum of your
payment. you will then receive your money in about 2 weeks then they will send you a check for the month in which you received your lump sum

My brother in law waited for 18 months after being approved. His back pay came in one lump sum, then he started getting his monthly checks.

I dont imagine so, I actually were recieveing incapacity for 26 years and its all tax loose I actually were residing tax loose longer than I actually have paid taxes i went in marines at 18 were given harm at 20 spent twenty first b day in medical institution i'm now 40 six lol

it takes about 3 weeks and its a great lump sum ie 1000 per month x 36 =36.000 dollars actually if you have been denied for 3 years they go back another 12-18 months

I think it will come in two checks...Social Security comes in two checks. I think you are a month behind so for example Feb does not come until march. Congrats....I lived on family for three years before receiving mine.
