I think influence is when someone asks your opinion and thinks about your answer to make a decision. It has a more positive tone to it. Power seems more negative--as if you had control of their decision.

Influence is a term that refers to the ability to indirectly control or affect the actions of other people or things. The meaning of influence therefore depends on who or what is being affected, and to what end.

Influence may mean:
Social influence derives from an interpersonal relationship.
Minority influence is when the minority effect the behavior or beliefs of the majority.
Sphere of influence is the area a state has a level of control over.

Power has many meanings, most of which imply (a capacity for) control or force,
Power (sociology), the ability to make choices or influence outcomes
Political power
Rationality and power
Reserve power, a power that may be exercised by the head of state of a country in certain exceptional circumstances.
Power (international), the ability of national states to influence or control other states or regions
Power (communication), power in interpersonal communication
Economic power has several meanings, including:
Purchasing power, the amount of goods and services a given amount of money can buy
Bargaining power or market power or monopoly power, the ability to influence the setting of prices or wages, or to restrict the amount of production, sales, or employment, or the quality of a good or a service; and, in the case of monopoly, the ability to exclude competitors from the market.
In Philosophy power is the cause of the spread of a set of ideas. Nietzsche attributed Christianity's spread to the the influence of power struggles which materialized in conquest and war, which in turn resulted in the spread of the moral ideal of Christianity.

Influence is being assertive to convince others to do things your way.
Power is doing things your way whether others like it or not.
This can be seen in church groups. We all have talents and it is fine to try to influence people but some want to run the whole show. Interfering with everybody else. We call them power drivers. We have one in our church.

Influence is a matter of a personality trait.
Power comes along with other things like money, success, ect. Some powerful people alays obtain whatthey want but is not always because they have that personality but because of other means like $$$.

They are both interconnected.

Influence is the power to get people to do what you want or sway their decisions.

Power is the ability to make them do it or decide it.

People in power are usually able to influence other people because of their status/position.
People with influence usually are able to rise to a position of power.

Influence means that what you do and what you are enables people to achieve what is good in proper freedom.

Power is simply bulldozing over others.
