I don't understand. Why USA and other countries need Flags for?
And why we have to say the Pledge of Allergy (sp?) or whatever?

Instead of blue, white, and red with stars?

Flags are symbols. They provide a concrete visual to represent something that is hard to visualize, like a town or country or family.
In traditional tribal or european war, flags are used to signal where your guys are, and to tell when you've won or lost.
Wouldn't it be great if a grand game of 'Capture the Flag' substituted for war in general?
