Lots of funny films out there - the old John Candy films like Uncle Buck, Summer Rental are great. Newer funny films are harder - though I though Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers was good - though the first one was best. I am looking forward to the Kath and Kim film as I think the series is fab.
In terms scary - I good suspenses are great - like The Others, I thought Wolf Creek was scary, but really gorry and a bit disturbing. Really depends whether scary is what you are looking for or if you are wanting horror.
Saw an interesting film that doesn't fit into any category last night - but The Illusionist held my attention throughout and kept me wondering what was going to happen next. Not phenomenal but entertaining though fairly tame.

To me for my section, really a lot each little thing makes a sturdy scary action picture, the lights on the peoples faces, even as the human beings bounce out at you, the blood and guts makes a sturdy scary action picture. An celebration of a kick butt scary action picture might want to be "the girl next door" and "Freddy vs. Jason" i recognize me the feared video clips!!!!!!!
