I hate all those speeches. It would be more entertaining if the "celebrities" came down with laryngitis.

The term "crossing the wooden line" is figurative. they do no longer propose that the actors/celebrities might ought to particularly walk by using a mass of writers donning wooden signs and indicators. Actors, administrators, and those concerning action picture and tv are (for the main section) attempting to understand the conflict between the studios and the writers. everybody needs everybody else for the equipment to artwork, and everybody needs a rapid and functional determination. In approximately 6 months, the demonstrate screen Actors Guild would be as much as renegotiate THEIR contracts, and that they are going to be battling for his or her proportion of an identical money that the writers are in touch approximately. So it particularly is equivalent factors know and self interest that keeps human beings faraway from the awards shows.

It would better if there was a limit on who they could thank (jless than 5 people including loved ones, close friends or significant others) and that's it. Those speeches are so annoying. Oh and Clint Eastwood looks like he has one foot in the grave! Shame. He used to be cool when he was younger.

They could just make their speeches shorter and funnier. That way no one gets bored and everyone gets entertained. I hate it when celebrities thank 100 people and take up 5 minutes time.

Any number of things would make it more entertaining. However, awards shows are the actor's chance to acknowledge people, and to maintain relationships with them by giving those acknowledgements.

It's acknowledging the past, but preparing for the future.

They have to acknowledge the people who made it possible to get them the award. I usually tape the program and fastforward thru the speeches. Boring and too long. They usually say the writers or directors or whoever are "brillant". Oh, puhleeze. These people do their job and expect an award. Enuf.

the speeches aren't to entertain us...but it helps. If I was a part of a production that won something i would want to be thanked even if the masses didn't know who i was
