i have no idea what the average prices are.
i don't want a used one.
i want a white gold, or platinum band with three round diamonds
( a larger center one and two small ones on the sided)
i want small diamonds...not big at all.

By average price, do you mean the average price of a diamond or the average price someone spends? The prices of the diamonds will depend on a lot of factors like the size, cut, color, etc.
As for how much most people spend, this can vary a great deal. I run a free diamond search service at Marriage-Proposal-Ideas.com and I get a lot of requests for free diamond searches. These range from a few hundred to over $100,000 (I'm still amazed at those). However, I'd say that most people spend between $1,500 and $4,000.
Some also go up to $15,000 or so, but it's rare to get much higher than that. The exact amount you want to spend is totally up to you. You can afford a nice ring at any price.
