An Art degree can do many things for you...the real question is, what do you want to do and is the Art degree right for you?
My interests were in comic art and cartooning...that changed to gaming and later to photography. I spent 2 years in art classes while in college before I found what I was interested in...History and Psychology. I use the art for fun. I have three friends that stayed with their art and graduated with their BFA. All are working, one in a gaming company doing cover art, the other does photographic restorations for the military, a third does webwork for profit and the forth went on to graduate school to learn Art therapy in Psychology.
The key is to decide what you want to do, and find what fits that and make adjustments as you go...but whatever you don't give up on the arts as there is too much fun here...
Oh what do I do? I do ghost work for cartoonists and work as an Engineer for a test company....but I'm always drawing...

Hey Lisa,
It is through the Arts that we feel the science. Someone has to decide how to use all that science for the good of humanity. An Artist has imagination, and is adept at that. But here are some career sites to encourage you more. Each of these sites has jobs, advice, resume type advice, and a ton of information. Keep up the Artistry!

There's all kinds of jobs you can work in with an art degree. You can freelance or work corporately as a graphic artist, (web design, tons of marketing jobs like creating ads for starters, muti-media creator or editor). There's also the administrative side of it: art handling, art gallery technician, or work as a consultant. Just google it and I'm sure you'll find all kinds of examples.
