It is never too late to start prenatal vitamins. I know many of women who never took any and their babies turned out just fine (don't get me wrong though, you should start on them as soon as possible.) My doctor actually took me off of my prenatals for while since I was so sick from my morning sickness. I didn't start back on them until week 15. Don't worry about what other people say when it comes to your decision to keep or not keep the baby. In the end, it's your decision and you are the one who has to live with what you choose. Congratulations!!! Oh, and I started taking prenatals before I originally saw my doctor and I was able to get them from my local vitamin store.

I'm 27 weeks pregnant and it's so exciting to feel and SEE her move around in there. Are you going to find out the sex? That's very exciting too. I'm surprised your doctor won't see you until the 31st, but I guess if you've gone this long, there won't be any harm in going a couple more weeks. You'll probably get an ultrasound on your visit and you are just at that point where they can determine the sex. Best of luck.

They say that the prenatal vitamins are most important during the first trimester. So I would have to say it probably wouldn't really do a lot of good now. But you can still take them if it makes you feel better. I only took mine for the first 3 months, then I stopped. Also, as long as you're eating right ie: getting enough calcium and mainly folic acid, you and the baby will be fine. Good Luck and props to you for making the decision to keep the baby.

You can take prenatals if you wish. They are good for you. However a high quality multivitamin and a seperate natural/plant based iron supplement (like floradix) may be better and safer.

Go to your drugstore and compare what is in a prenatal with what is in a regular vitamin (check several brands) and ask yourself which is worth the price and how much is really missing from your diet.

If you take a regular vitamin be sure that there is less that 3,000 IU of vitamin A though.

No it's never too late. A little is better than none at all. With my first daughter I didn't take them at all because I couldn't keep them down. So I took Flintstone vitamins. So take them. And I don't hate you because I was thinking about terminating my pregnancy because my daughter was only 15 months old when I conceived but I thought it through. Now I'm 26 weeks pregnant with my second daughter and I'm happy. Congrats & Good Luck!

Never too late! Go to the store today and get some! OTC vitamins are great, and I'm sure the doc will give you some at your appt. You and the baby will benefit from them!

It's never too late to start taking them. Even if you were 'thinking' of terminating the pregnancy, you should have been taking the prenatals anyway, just in case, ya know?

Better late than never, but you have missed the crucial first few weeks when you were suppose to take them....

If it's any consolation, women have been birting babies for centuries, even before prenatals were available...so as long as you ate healthy and adequately...should be ok...fingers crossed.
