The government have done what governments do. They have introduced a range of legislation that says much but delivers little.
They have used all their political skills to make it look like they care about equality when in reality they don't care a jot.

All the discrimination laws are ineffectual because they empower the abusers more than they do the oppressed.
The courts are presided over by elderly and experienced bigots who ensure that any benefit that might have been derived is strangled and removed from the process by said bigots.

I cannot be anything but English. I am English by birth, by nature and by constitution...but I am at the same time deeply, deeply ashamed and embarrassed by the way we pretend we are tolerant when in fact we are the exact opposite.

Too much!!!!! Just look at the Police Forces. Probably more women than men, nothing wrong with that if doing suitable jobs, but, front line policing..bahh. In my area Chief Constable called to task as not recruiting whites as he has to fill quota given by govt. so is only taking on women and (no prej intended) coloureds. No wonder the country in sinking as quickly as our Navy. (This of course is UK not the other place across the pond)

Ironically,they have done everything to prevent equal opportunity.

The labour govt and its subsiduary institutions have a positive discrimination policy.The police for example , recruit to ethnic quota design.If the maximum percentage of whites have been recruited, they are bound by policy to recruit ethnic minorities regardless of merit.
So we have councils,government ,police,firebrigade,nursing that dont recruit the best person for the job
