There's a world of difference.

A high school diploma implies attending class, reading books, completing written assignments, working with others to accomplish goals, interacting with teachers and administrators to obtain answers to your questions and consensus on your achievements. These are all skills needed to survive in college classes.

A GED says the person took a test and met minimum academic qualifications. It says nothing about your interests, clubs you could have joined, and contributions you may have made to your own learning experience. But it beats no diploma at all.

If you are at high school age, go to school and get your diploma.

GED gets you a diploma and a job making $16000-$20,000 a year and its very hard to get a job you like and harder to get into a major college. High School Diploma gets you into college making $25,000 a year and a few years later a minimum of $30,000 a year. In addition, when your in interviews they will ask you where you went to school, and if you say you have a GED they will think your lazy and/or not smart enough for the job... just my 2 cents

Really none..Some colleges use you High School GPA for admission..With a GED, then simply the SAT.. If no SAT, you will need to attend an open enrollment college like a Community college and transfer to a 4 yr institution

Abosuletly nothing. GED, Diploma, its all the same in the eyes of the school. What matters is your SAT / ACT score, and your entrance exams. Those scores will determine your undergrad core class schedule.

No difference. However, if you remain in high school, you'll have access to AP courses which will prepare you better.
