Are there foods at the store I can buy that will do a bowel cleanse. I don't really want to buy something. My friend did a lemon juice bowel cleanse, another took a lot of exlax. I was hoping I could eaet foods that would do the trick. Know of any? Serious answers only.

Here are some natural ways. You can try one or mix them up and use many:

Milk with acidophillus (or buy liquid and add it to your milk)
Cranberry juice
Hot water with lemon juice 3x a day
Prunes or bran muffins
Diet tea ( these clean out your colon and bowels naturally with
herbs)
Licorice root (not the candy you would have to eat too much)
Drink 8-10 glasses of water per day (add fiber packet to one)
Strong coffee 2x a day
Bran Buds Cereal (may not like it but it works)

Do not use laxatives. Your body becomes dependant upon these and then you can not go without them. And the can cause pockets in the the intestines and infection if used to often. They are harsh and hard on your system. The also flush out you food before your body can get the nutrients from the food. That is why Anerexics are so thin and undernourished. They use laxatives regularly. Try natural ways only.

It's not a scam...I have a colon cleanse monthly and you would be shocked to see what comes out! sorry but it's true. If you are not eliminating after every meal, you need to take something to get the plumbing working. Health starts in the colon! I also have used the Colonix brand of cleanse and was happy with the results.

You don't need money or any special food. You need one important nutrient....which is....WATER. When the body is supplied with plenty of water, it detoxes and cleanses itself. Forget the gimmicks out there. They are a waste of money and people like your friend feed into it.

Look up vitamin c flush. I myself have never done it, but it will clear you out from what I have read.

You use it to find out how much vitamin c you body needs. During that time you expel the unneeded portion, mostly in liquid form. You drink a lot of water mixed with powered vitamin c.
