It's Charles Dickens, and it is his best book. Well, maybe A Tale of Two Cities is just as good. Don't watch the movies -- they don't come close to the beauty of the books.
Read it, and enjoy.

The book was captivating to me. Some see it as a soap opera of sorts, but I just couldn't put it down once I got started

I hate reading anything by him!.....I believe the old stories he was paid by the word. And I love most classical literature, reading his books were torture.
I had better expectations

I read it once (by choice) and thought it was pretty good but no matter how hard I try I can't read it a second time. I guess it is one of those "once is enough" books.

I really enjoyed it. I thought Pip was a great character, among many others in the story.

The film was very good , found the book rather dreary.I bet he hadnt anticipated that it would be still be a Christmas epic on the box.
