4(x - 3) - 2(x - 1) > 0

First: eliminate parenthesis > multiply the outer terms with the terms in the parenthesis...

4(x) - 4(3) - 2(x) - 2(-1) > 0
4x - 12 - 2x + 2 > 0

Sec: combine "like" terms....

4x - 2x - 12 + 2 > 0
2x - 10 > 0

Third: add 10 to both sides (moving varibles to the opposite side means: use the opposite sign)...

2x - 10 + 10 > 0 + 10
2x > 10

*Solve for "x" by isolating it on one side > divide both sides by 2...

2x/2 > 10/2
x > 5

P.S. Some of you should be nice to others, instead of accusing someone of cheating. Some people don't understand certain math problems-were here to help.

Open all the brackets 4x^2 + 4x + 1 -6x -3 -8x^2 +2 =0 Collect like terms together -4x^2 - 2x = 0 This is the sames as 4x^2 + 2x = 0 factorize with 2x Gives 2x(2x +1) = 0 So x = 0 or -1/2
