If you can get every liberal politician or activist whining about Darfur now to sign a contract stating:

"I will not criticize US troops for enforcing UN resolutions, freeing a country, and killing the bad guys. I will not shout that, 'America has no right to be the world's policeman' while simultaneously demanding that America police the world. Nor will I approve a military intervention plan at first to appear tough, an then do a 180 when people start dying and my looney hyper-pacifist base starts spouting conspiracy theories."

But it won't happen. I would bet $1000 that at least half of liberal the politicians who demand we send troops to Darfur would be criticizing Bush, the USA, etc. within 1 month of the start of any military operation there. I guarantee it, it happened in Iraq.

I think our plate is full right now. It disappoints me that the rest of the world is dependant upon the united states to solve everyone elses problems. I think what is going on in Darfur is sad, however - we can only do so much in the world. Our focus has been on the middle east - until that is solved I cant see us jumping head first into anything else right now. I think other countries need to help the USA right now so we can accomplish more in the world TOGETHER. <3

It's not the US Government's job to be the protector of other countries' citizens. I feel sorry for them and I do what I can to donate to places that can help, but strictly speaking, the American government is just that -- the American government. Help should come from the private sector, churches, the UN, etc., not from the government.
